1.75" x 20.25" x 29.5"
This wall tile is broken into pieces that create a whole image about the feeling of overstimulation or a mind flooded with thoughts. I made this piece as a visual representation of the overactive mental scape. As someone with ADHD, thoughts come and go and speak one atop another alongside this nagging urge to be active in some sort of way, all while not allowing the distractions and urges to interfere with the daily grind. This meditative practice is the pursuit of stability. I personified this experience by using myself as a reference to all the aforementioned themes.
The animation reflects that feeling of overthinking, thoughts running into one another as topics, and subjects change rapidly, like the patterns the mouths opening and closing create. Though a task to manage, it has also allowed me the multiplicity of create thought, useful for making art. Thus, the paint brush and flow of the primary colors emphasize the product of such chaos.
